This is a commission I've made for a good friend of mine; Cecilia, also known as *dragonC She has always been amazed by my portraits, so suddenly some time ago she asked me if I did commissions and if I could draw a portrait of her, which she wanted to pay for. I've never made a commission before, so I thought it would be awesome to take up that challenge
She gave me a reference photo, which was only 352 x 511 pixels (!!!) It would be easier to draw if I made it in the size of A5, but I don't want to make such a small portrait, since I wont have a change to make the all details visible. So I took up the challenge making a portrait in the size of A4, which means that I had to enlarge the photo to that size. That made it look grainy, but out from my own creativity I was able to draw all the details clear and sharp, like if I used a high resolution photo reference
With that in mind, I'm quite proud of this portrait, since I had no idea that I could make such a portrait from out such a small photo
To make something more than just a simple portrait, I chose to personalize the portrait in a way so it adds more to the expression of who she is and the kind of elements which describes her best.
Since she likes creating her own tattoo-designs, I therefore chose to re-create some of her tattoos which she's most proud of.
I've chosen to make the rabbit tattoo because it, in her own words, tells about who she is. "Creative, simple, calm and strong-willed".
Since she adores dragons, have made many tattoo-designs of dragons and has used "dragon" in her own dA-name, I chose to somehow include a dragon in the portrait For the dragon I got the inspiration from her own featured deviation It doesn't look like the one she made, but that's the idea ^^ I created my version of it as you can see.
When we met in the afternoon of Friday the 30th of May, I brought the portrait along with me and gave it to her. She was so amazed and extremely happy for it She was left absolutely speechless ^^ So I hope you'll like it as well

As references I used the following deviations: - Cecilia [link] - The dragon [link] - The rabbit-tattoo [link] - Tattoo in the top [link] - Tattoo to the left [link] All deviations were made by *dragonC
Hehe næh, men det gør vi nu Tusind tak skal du ha' for komplimentet Og tak for 'en =]

Wow, you really made her so happy.. I am proud of you. This looks very good, exactely like the photo.. And that you improved so much... wow.. I am not sure if I could do it. But I also draw from other photos than you, so I can't compare this. But I am extremely proud of you and I can understand that you are as well, that you are able to make such a nice portrait out of this. I also like the fire-dragon and the tattoos.. The fired dragon looks so cool! And the tattos as well. :] Such a thoughtful drawing of you.... I am happy for you that you made her happy.
And then... you are really funny. You are so extremely jealous and now you draw a girl that lives near your place and add a heart... how should I understand that now? ^^ That doesn't fit together. You get a crisis when I talk with boys and if I would draw a boy and a heart you would die of jealousity. I actually know that I have nothing to fear, but anyway it's a bit odd to me because of your reactions.
But still it is a very good drawing, I like what you did for her

I already gave it to her yesterday, like it's written in my description She was very amazed and proud by it ^^ I'm glad you like it too Thank you

Hihi, thought so It still makes me so happy to know how much you like it Since you're so proud of it, then my mission is accomplished. All I wanted was for you to be happy and proud of this work Your reactions really changed my mood as you already know. It made me forget about the bad thing which happened to me before we met yesterday ^^ So it's really me who should say "Thank you" Well, it still is a mystery to me as well how I can create such things ^^ The pleasure is all mine It really is. The process making this drawing was very calm and unstressy, so it was pleasure to make this portrait for you

Before I write further on, I have to inform you that there's nothing to be jealous about at all. Come on, dear You just misunderstood it. I added the heart because she's in love as well. She has a boyfriend who lives in France. As much as I love you, she loves her boyfriend as well. It wasn't a heart I made for her, it was one she could reflect upon, showing that she's in love. That's all.
And the reaction was because I got a bad grade at the exam that day and I was so pissed and sad the whole day, until we met and her reaction on the portrait made me happy again.
Btw, why didn't you fave it? Is there something wrong with it?
